So much to do and see...

If you love the outdoors, enjoy the natural environment and wildlife and take joy in finding tranquillity and peace, then the Trossachs & Queen Elizabeth National parks are a must visit. There is such a natural abundance to do and see that you simply won’t cover it all in several visits!

Aberfoyle is famous for its extensive gravel tracks that lead for literally hundreds of miles through forest and glen and treat you to some of Scotland’s most stunning scenery. Often re-named Gravelfoyle, the tracks can be explored on foot, but more frequently on mountain and gravel bike.

Aberfoyle is also home to one of UK’s largest Go-Ape’s, and boasts the UK’s longest zipwire!

If you want to enjoy the gravel tracks by bike, you can hire one within a few minutes’ walk of the guesthouse:

Cruise Loch Lomond and discover stunning walks, islands, beaches, villages and ancient woodland

For over 180 years, steamships have cruised on Loch Katrine. Join a cruise at the birthplace of Scottish tourism.

Nature is never far away...

Osprey Watching is possible during their nesting season as they often nest on Loch Ard, which is 5 minutes from the house. When feeding their young, they fly to the Lake of Mentieth to catch trout, and it’s one of the best places to watch these magnificent birds.

You will be spoilt for wildlife, with regular sightings of red deer, pine martens and red squirrels in our garden! Slightly further afield, you can go beaver watching around Loch Ard as they have recently been re-introduced.

A little further afield...

Loch Lomond is only 15 minutes away, and is a stunning day out, especially if you take a boat ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery. This is well worth the time.

For those with a car, Glen Coe is only around 1 ½ hours away and we’d highly recommend a day out, venturing north to Callandar, and then on up through Tyndrum to the famous and majestic Glen. Whilst you’re there, take a detour and drive down the road to Glen Etive, made famous by the Bond film, ‘Skyfall’.
